Glenn Gould is one of the most famous and influential pianists of the twentieth century, with a career that spanned more than two decades until his untimely death in 1982 and whose life continues to inspire artists and creators. The play Glenn was created by Ivan Calbérac to trace the story of a man who faces personal and professional challenges and navigates the troubled waters of his personal and professional life, while trying to maintain his integrity and dignity. The deep and moving script, both entertaining and thoughtful, offers a look into the life of an extraordinary man and touches on themes such as family, friendship and work.
We explore the artist's complex inner life, his tumultuous relationships with women, his fragile mental health and his obsession with music and perfection. Through this ambitious production, supported by talented actors who embody the different facets of Gould's personality, we also look at human relationships and the difficulties of everyday life between passion and solitude.
