Recital: Simon Ghraichy, piano
Programme: Schubert, Litz, Granados, Albeniz, Manuel M. Ponce and Marquez

Of Lebanese and Mexican origin, Simon Ghraichy was born in Paris. After many trips, he returned to his native city to study music. A student of Michel Béroff and Daria Hovora at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, he continued his training with Tuija Hakkila at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Winner of several international prizes, his virtuosity and his clear-cut musical choices have enabled him to develop an international career.

He has played in such prestigious venues as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Carnegie Hall in New York and the Philharmonic Orchestras of Paris, Berlin and St Petersburg.

His discography is essentially romantic in its early years, and includes several albums devoted to Liszt and Schumann. His exclusive collaboration with the Deutsche Gramophone label has resulted in two discs, Héritages and 33, which also reflect his multiple influences through works by Villa-Lobos, Debussy, Gottschalk, Schumann, Beethoven, Isaac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla and Enrique Granados.
