Gaëtan Olias was born in Gassin in 1996 and grew up in La Croix-Valmer. Designer, painter and all-round "handyman" of noble materials, today Olias feels "more influenced by designers and craftsmen than by artists". In 2016, he graduated top of his class in Graphic Design at the Lycée Saint-Exupéry in Marseille.
At the head of a collective of designers with whom he sets up scenography and layout projects, he creates large frescoes that can be seen in Paris, Montargis, Fréjus and, of course, La Croix-Valmer. He experiments a lot and creates a non-gendered and poetic character whose emotions he declines infinitely.
"I love to travel and go alone to remote areas to discover the world and rediscover myself," he explains. But I have a strong attachment to the region, to the sea and to the environment. This is why after several exiles I always come back. It is above all the water and its riches that nourish and fascinate me. Reconnexion is "the opportunity to finally be able to have a real exhibition and show that I am capable of making a real coherent and contemporary scenography" he says.
Théo Guignard
Illustrator, artistic director for animation, Théo Guignard was born on November 15, 1990 in Gassin and grew up in Saint-Tropez until his senior year. "I knew very early that I wanted to draw. As the Gulf was devoid of any real training in drawing, I was a little lost", he explains. His art teacher told him about the Lycée Arts Appliqués de Vence. In 2012, with a Diploma of Designer and Director in Animated Cinema at the Gobelins school in Paris, he works as a set designer in the cinema, for series, for TV dressing, advertising, credits. Today he lives in Levallois-Perret, France. He has notably imagined for La Poste, the series of magical stamps for Christmas 2022. Author of two books of drawings published by Amaterra: Titans 2017 and Labyrinths 2019, this summer he will reveal a more personal side of his work. "I feel like I appreciate the peninsula more strongly since I left it. As soon as I come back, I can't stop exploring it. I want to pay tribute to this region, to these atmospheres, these colors that have nourished me," he says.
