The film will be followed by a presentation by the "Amis du Laborieux" of the tug's ongoing renovation.
A film :

After working as a novice fisherman at the age of 14, Jean Piana joined the Chantiers navals de La Seyne where, after the war, he became captain of the Laborieux, the Chantiers' only tugboat.

On land, Jean Piana made the most of another of his talents: the cultivation of the countryside bequeathed to him by his parents.

Worker, sailor and farmer: the lives of many Seynois during the "shipyard years".

A renovation :

The tug "Le Laborieux" was built in 1946-47, to tow and, above all, push parts weighing several tons to the construction docks. Equipped with a steel hull, she plied the harbor until the shipyards closed in 1989. Saved from scrap, she was nevertheless vandalized, tagged and looted until 2021, when, at the instigation of the Friends of the Laborieux, major renovation work was undertaken.
