Engaged each year in national competitions, the Rameurs Vénitiens de Martigues have won several titles. Cheer on the "sang et or" crews, from the Pointe San Crist on the island. Aou Aou Aou !

The origin of traditional rowing goes back to the time when fishermen, once their work was done, organised races to return to the port to sell the fruit of their catch. Traditional rowing is practised on boats weighing 600 kg and 7.20 m long, with 6 rowers and a coxswain.
