Classical and self-taught, Christophe Lampidecchia embodies the new French accordion scene: a prodigy who has become a jack-of-all-trades, curious about new sounds and other ways of making his instrument vibrate, particularly through contact with jazz.
A true local boy, born and bred in Marseille, Christophe Lampidecchia is proud of his roots, which are steeped in sunshine, lively conversation, friendship and music. Music: certainly one of the first sounds he heard when he was born in 1974. Music born from the Habanera orchestra, formed by his father, Jean, and his grandfather, Jules, whose accordions were accompanied by his uncle Edmond on the drums. His grandfather and father, accordionists and dance band leaders, were the guardians of a family tradition where music reigned supreme. They soon became his teachers, uncompromising but undoubtedly very moved when Christophe took to the stage for the first time on 21 June 1986.
With Christophe Lampidecchia on accordion, Stef Keys on piano, Jean-Paul Artero on double bass, Jean-Luc Di Fraja on percussion and drums.
