The Tour du Valat will exceptionally open its doors to the public on Sunday February 1, 2026, to mark World Wetlands Day (WWD).

Every year, WWD celebrates the anniversary of the signing of the Ramsar Convention for the Protection of Wetlands on February 2, 1971 in Iran. Luc Hoffmann, founder of the Tour du Valat in 1954, was one of the main instigators.
In 2025, the theme of the WWD is:
"Wetlands and traditional knowledge: celebrating cultural heritage".
