Three days of partying on Verdon beach for this big weekend.
You have an appointment with around thirty international kite flyers. Around ten countries will be represented. Several regions of France will also be present.
They will offer free demonstrations of kites, large structures, traditional kites and will give advice to help the youngest to practice flying. Initiation to traction sail inflating, boomerang throwing, model aircraft demonstration, wind garden, candy releases and kite sales.
Demonstrations: in the centre of the beach, in an enclosed area, for safety reasons. The beauty of the kite or the desire to meet kite flyers should not make you forget that they can represent a danger. Monofilament, large structures, traditional kites, all compete in originality and illuminate the sky with their colours. You can easily admire them from a little further away.
- The wind garden: you can walk around and admire the inventiveness and creativity of their director.
- The candy releases: they are programmed according to the weather and reserved for the youngest children.
- The public space: a space is specially reserved for the public who wish to try kite flying.
The Kite Festival is organised by the Coup de Vent association, in partnership with the City of Martigues, the PACA Region, the General Council of the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Association pour l'Animation des Centres Sociaux et des Maisons de quartier and Radio Maritima.
