Returning to Ionesco's The Lesson in these uncertain times is a must. It deals with the violence of language as a weapon of authoritarianism, a highly political and inspiring question. How can we share knowledge and create a desire to learn? The teacher in The Lesson represents all the dangers of a pyramid system that assumes that passing on knowledge is tantamount to imposing it - and that creates mistrust among young people.
