La Vague Classique: Ensemble Artaserse - Philippe Jaroussky

In 2002, Philippe Jaroussky founded the Ensemble Artaserse to approach and record the music of Benedetto Ferrari: this event, the artist's first solo recording, materialized his already deep-rooted attachment to the repertoire of the XVii th century, the Seicento that was to remain with him throughout his prodigious career, and which he was to defend to the four corners of the globe. With his absolute vocal mastery, his unstoppable musicality and his art of sculpting the word, the French countertenor knows few rivals in the singularly beautiful art of the early Baroque. It goes without saying that his accomplices in the Ensemble Artaserse, incomparable virtuosos and experts in these high periods, underline with refinement every inflection of their conductor and singer.
