In 2021, we celebrate the centenary of Astor Piazzola's birth.
For this occasion, bandoneonist Louise Jallu, alongside Bernard Cavanna (co-creator of the bandoneon chair at the Gennevilliers conservatory), set to work arranging some of the immense Argentine composer's most beautiful themes, in an original formation.
The result is Piazzola 2021:
a jubilant show celebrating the irresistible ambivalence of the tango master, whose style constantly oscillates between the sophistication of so-called "learned" music and the visceral depth of traditional music.
