A committed actor in the fight against global warming and founder of the Wildlife Interactions association, photographer and explorer Olivier Anrigo invites you with his impressive images to an immersive journey through the spectacular and vulnerable landscapes of Svalbard, this Norwegian archipelago at the heart of current geopolitical and climatic issues.
Svalbard is today one of the regions on the planet where warming is the fastest. These images bear witness to the permanent transformation of landscapes and capture the majesty of disappearing glaciers, whose melting influences atmospheric and oceanic currents. On once frozen lands darkened by the melting of permafrost, biodiversity is threatened.
Bears, walruses, seals, fulmars, arctic terns, reindeer: animals are the first to be affected by the disappearance of their natural habitat and the disruption of human activities, including growing tourism in this polar region.
