The new exhibition at the Galerie des Musées du Palais de l'Europe, Art vivant, Forme, mouvement, couleur, features a selection of works presented at the Biennales de Menton, a key event for artistic creation in Europe in the second half of the 20th century.
The aim of the exhibition is not to provide a panorama of the Biennales, but to focus on painters who embodied a new form of Abstraction, or who took a fresh look at their relationship with the world. Most of these artists made their mark as soon as the Liberation, supported by young gallery owners, and enjoyed success and awards at art fairs and biennales around the world.
