Marc BARANI - South
After studying architecture and scenography, Marc Barani completed his training with studies in anthropology.
Today, the Atelier works on projects of all shapes and sizes, including cultural facilities, educational buildings, housing, offices, transport infrastructures and engineering structures. The team is also interested in developing new construction processes.
As part of the new national strategy for architecture, initiated by the French Ministry of Culture, Marc Barani led the "innovate" working group.
A member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts, he has also been awarded the Grand Prix National de l'Architecture.
Every architect's work has an autobiographical dimension.
So I headed south, to extract from our landscapes what has had a lasting influence on me.
I grew up immersed in the powers of nature: tectonic, with the rock falling sheer into the sea; immaterial, with the horizon; seismic, with the tremors of the ground and the whole character of the Mediterranean people.
But the Riviera is also a land of fiction, where each community that has settled here has projected its own vision of the territory and inscribed its own culture. The cities of Genoa and Turin
the exotic landscapes imagined by the English and Russians, the summer resort and its built-up waterfront: so many strata that have shaped a place that is both polymorphous and strangely unitary.
strangely unified.
The projects presented here all aim, in their own way, to capture this complexity, to make it the raw material of design, to add a touch of the imaginary to dreams already embodied, and to link architecture to what lies beyond itself.
The evening includes :
- champagne reception on the Villa patio
- themed conference
- dinner at Restaurant Béatrice prepared by our chef Myriam Barda (*wine and food pairing and a flute of champagne)
