Portraits, networks and news of Nathalie Magnan, a group exhibition dedicated to Nathalie Magnan, media theorist, filmmaker, cyberfeminist and hacktivist, navigator of the seas and the internet who passed away in 2016.
Bringing together numerous archival materials and films that trace her career, and uniting artists with whom she has worked or whose practices extend her own, the exhibition creates a collective biography that illuminates the current relevance of an important yet still too little-known figure in the history of media, technology, feminism, and LGBTQIA+ struggles. From the 1980s to the 2010s, Nathalie Magnan fostered dialogue and sometimes even clashes between these areas of thought and action.
