Between the port and the old town, the 100-year-old municipal market is full of colours, fragrances and flavours of the South. It gathers every day (Monday few open stalls) about thirty traders who sell fresh and local products.
Since 1898, Les Halles de Menton has been a showcase for local produce and nearby Italy. The building's Belle Époque elegance is enhanced by the polychrome ceramics from Menton's Saïssi factory that adorn the top of the façade. Even today, the halles bring life to the heart of the city every morning.
On Saturday mornings, 24 fairground vendors take over the Place Fornari to sell clothing items, while another 20 or so set up shop on the Mail du Bastion.
