Jean Bastide is a French colorist and illustrator renowned in the world of comics. He has made a name for himself for his fine line, his sense of movement and his ability to bring expressive, endearing characters to life. From 2016, he will be taking over the Boule & Bill characters, following in the footsteps of Laurent Verron, who produced 12 albums after Jean Roba's death.
During this workshop, the artist will share his world, his drawing techniques and the stages involved in creating a comic strip, from sketch to finished board. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about illustration by creating their own characters under his guidance.
In collaboration with Olivier Lechevestrier, a passionate scholar of art and culture, particularly music and comics. In 2024, he created the 1st Prix de la BD Jeunesse du Golfe "Les Bulles du Golfe", which uses a variety of activities and events to share this passion with as many people as possible in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
The event will close with a "Cocker Friendly" signing session at 2pm at the Grande Librairie Tropézienne Scarlett, giving everyone the chance to take home a personalized book.
