The Camp des Milles Memorial Site presents a new and original exhibition dedicated to Joann Sfar, author of The Rabbi’s Cat, entitled A Life in Drawing. Divided into two parts, the exhibition retraces Sfar’s artistic and intellectual journey before and after 7 October 2023.
It explores his many influences and his commitment to confronting antisemitism, racism and extremism through a deeply personal narrative interwoven with collective history.
Following the exhibition held at the MAHJ in Paris, this new presentation highlights two powerful works created after the tragic events of October 2023: We Shall Live and What to Do with the Jews? In these pieces, Joann Sfar reflects on the future of the Israeli people in all their diversity, and on the prospects for peace with the Palestinians. Through this sensitive and engaged testimony, he delivers a profoundly humanist and fraternal work, firmly rooted in our time.
