A repertoire of ragtime, charleston, black bottom, swing, borrowed from the first Broadway musicals and music hall, a jazz of more or less shady cabarets, both forbidden and very popular.
This is not the music of New Orleans, which is much better known and still played today, but rather that of the big cities of the North, such as the famous Cotton Club in New York or the speakeasies of Chicago.
Jazz & Prohibition tries to play in the spirit of these jazz pioneers, while also getting close to the sound of the time.
