The experience
The Mediterranean has long been a strategic trading area, attracting pirates and privateers since ancient times. This guided tour takes you back in time as you explore the natural landscapes of the Giens peninsula.
The tour explores the natural and historical heritage of the site, with a stop at the Fort du Pradeau. Access to the fort's terrace, included in the tour, offers a 360° panorama of the Hyères harbor and the Golden Islands.
The walk also addresses a current environmental issue: biological invasions. Certain exotic plants, which have become established after years of cohabitation, now represent a threat to the balance of protected natural environments. Participants discover the mechanisms of these invasions, the role of local species and the missions of the Conservatoire Botanique Méditerranéen.
