NIMFA is designed around two main components: an academy and a festival.
- The academy (NIMA), which was launched in December 2023 under the name Horizon Expanded, aims to support its participants in their integration into professional artistic ecosystems, internationally, by combining remote and in-person activities. It welcomes candidates of all nationalities and offers specific facilities to participants from disadvantaged regions or those facing economic, social, or political difficulties.
- The festival (NIMF), for its part, aims to showcase the latest aesthetic trends in creative music and interdisciplinary works, while promoting key pieces from the contemporary music repertoire, particularly those from the post-war years to the present day. The program also includes works by the academy's young composers, emerging artists, and established figures on the international scene, thus helping to energize the local artistic scene and attract a wider audience. Rooted in the city of Nice, the festival forges connections between music, other artistic disciplines, and new technologies. It prides itself on promoting cultural diversity while also committing to environmental responsibility and gender equality.
NIMFA stands out for its collaborations with internationally renowned institutions and artists, providing a unique platform for original creations and multicultural exchanges. More than a festival, NIMFA is an immersive experience that invites you to rediscover contemporary music through an innovative and inspiring lens.
