Follow the Olympic Flame route around Marseille on May 9.
The Torch Relay is an unmissable tradition that takes us back to the roots of the Games. The first torch of the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay was lit on April 16, according to tradition, using the sun's rays, during a ceremony in the sanctuary of Olympia, in Greece, where the the ancient games. From the Peloponnese, the Olympic Flame will travel to Athens to board the Belem and cross the Mediterranean Sea to Marseille.
After its arrival in the Old Port on May 8, 2024, the Olympic Flame will begin its epic journey in France. For two days – May 8 and 9 – the Flame will host our city. In order to make this historic arrival a great popular celebration, numerous festivities will be organized for 48 hours, in the Old Port but also throughout the city when the Flame comes to meet the people of Marseille.
Find below the route of the Olympic Flame in all sectors of Marseille on May 9. Activities will also be organized in all areas of the city to allow you to discover a multitude of sporting activities free of charge.
A relay throughout the city
Hundreds of runners and in particular Marseille personalities will take turns throughout the route to carry the Flame which will pass through several emblematic places of the Marseille city and will meet the people of Marseille in the four corners of the city.
Notre-Dame de la Garde - Place Estrangin
La Flamme will head towards Place Estrangin via Boulevard Vauban and Rue Breteuil. She will arrive at her destination after 2.2 km of running.
Departure: 8:20 a.m. / Arrival: 9:05 a.m.
Borély Park - Palais du Pharo
The relay will leave from the Corniche Kennedy to cover 6.25 km to the Palais du Pharo.
Departure: 9:20 a.m. / Arrival: 11 a.m.
Letters "Marseille" (15th)
A 500 meter route around the letters from 11:10 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.
Pharo Palace - Arenc
In the direction of Arenc via the Old Port, the Olympic Flame will pass in front of the Town Hall, Boulevard Jacques Saadé and the Quai du Lazaret. A 6.3 km race.
Departure: 11:40 a.m. / Arrival: 1:15 p.m.
Font Obscure Park (14th)
Two loops in the park between 2:10 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Dome - Palais Longchamp (4th)
Starting from the Palais Longchamp and passing through Boulevard Françoise-Duparc (Jarret), 3 km of racing are planned for this stage.
Departure: 3:30 p.m. / Arrival: 4:40 p.m.
Moline Park (12th)
Two loops in the park between 4:45 p.m. and 5:05 p.m.
Périer - Mazargues
For this last stage, the Flame will leave from Boulevard du Prado towards Boulevard Michelet. She will arrive at the Stade Vélodrome for the lighting ceremony of the Olympic cauldron on the Ganay esplanade.
Departure: 5:40 p.m. / Arrival: 7:20 p.m.

May 9: events throughout the city
All day long, sector town halls will organize events to allow Marseille residents to experience a major popular celebration around the start of the Olympic Torch Relay.
TOWN HALL OF THE 2ND AND 3RD DISTRICTS
Place de la Joliette - From 10:30 a.m.
Capoeira, giant chess sets, zumba and games for the whole family. Catering on site.
The flame will arrive at 11:45 a.m.
TOWN HALL OF THE 4TH AND 5TH DISTRICTS
Longchamp Park - From 1 p.m.
Wooden games, exhibitions, discovery of historical figures, theatrical activities or even a large treasure hunt with small sporting challenges.
The flame will arrive at 4:20 p.m.
TOWN HALL OF THE 6TH AND 8TH DISTRICTS
Borély Park - From 9:30 a.m.
Discovery of Nordic walking, boxing, introduction to roller skating, health basketball, giant tennis workshop, Indian dance demonstration, juggling shows and musical ambiance hosted by a bicycle-pulled float and solar DJ.
The flame will arrive at 9:20 a.m.
TOWN HALL OF THE 9TH AND 10TH DISTRICTS
Obelisk of Mazargues - Between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Show of Pompom Girls “Cheerdance Leader”, of the batucada “Treize en Scope”, and presence of numerous sports clubs in the sector and cultural actors.
The flame will arrive at 6:30 p.m.
TOWN HALL OF THE 11TH AND 12TH DISTRICTS
Parc de la Moline - From 2 p.m.
Olympic Village in partnership with sports associations in the sector. French boxing, English boxing, archery, medieval fencing village, taekwondo, rugby, break dancing.
The flame will arrive at 4:45 p.m.
TOWN HALL OF THE 13TH AND 14TH DISTRICTS
CMA Font Obscure / Font Obscure Park - From 1 p.m.
Introductions to sporting activities, led in particular by local champions, graffiti workshop, awareness of waste sorting, break dancing, urban course, stilt walkers, demonstrations by professional skaters and musical entertainment.
The flame will arrive at 2:10 p.m.

Grand Littoral car park - From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
