Every summer, a hundred or so young musicians from all over the Mediterranean Basin Mediterranean basin meet for a training session, directed by a prestigious conductor, under the aegis of the International Festival of Lyric Art of Aix-en-Provence
This year, the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, its musical director Duncan Ward and guest cellist Camille Thomas, propose a musical journey punctuated by stopovers illustrating the diversity of cultures and music that form the ensemble’s identity. Alongside the venerable pages of Saint-Saëns and Ravel, we will hear works by the Egyptian composer Gamal Abdel-Rahim and Betsy Jolas, to whom the Festival is dedicating a portrait, as well as the, now iconic, collective creation ‘MYO Medinea’.

● Conductor : Duncan Ward
