Third date for the 20th edition of the Grimaldines festival.
The theme of this third evening is 'Africa', and Oumou Sangaré will be doing us the honour of taking to the stage at the château at 10pm.
As always, the show starts in the streets at 7pm. Food truck and restaurants on site.
Born into a family from Wassoulou, a wooded region to the south-east of Bamako, where tradition is directly inspired by the songs of hunters, Oumou Sangaré expresses her convictions through her songs, which are full and vibrant in tone. Attached to the country's cultural identity, she believes in traditional values while pointing out those that restrict women.
And today, each of Oumou's new albums is an event. In Mali, where she still lives today, but also, much more widely, across the African continent. Since the release of her first album in 1988, the diva has built up a loyal following. Many call her the queen, the mother. Or even the sub-Saharan Aretha Franklin, in reference to her commitment to the fight for women's rights.
Organised by Grimaud Tourist Office.
