Acting to heal. Psychodrama is a therapeutic method that combines theater and psychology. Young director Lisa Guez takes this practice and delivers a show that blends humor and depth.
We are in a women's psychiatric center. Six caregivers meet weekly to offer psychodrama sessions to patients. It's a practice that requires staff, time, and dedication. As in many other centers, the budget is running out, and the therapy is under threat. Psychodrama is a collective work in which the actresses alternately play patients and psychologists, characters woven from field research and personal inspiration. A liberating and joyful exploration of the terrors and monsters that inhabit our unconscious.
