The En Devenir 2 company invites us to explore the depth of François Rabelais' knowledge, his contagious curiosity and, above all, the wild imagination of his language.
Nothing More Than a Bit of Marrow runs through four of Rabelais's books to recount the adventures of Pantagruel, a gluttonous giant who, in his youth, studied without finding any real passion. He entertained himself rather than anything else, wandering from town to town without finding substance in his existence. From his encounter with Panurge, a rare and true friendship was born. The two of them, and their company, will transport us from philosophical questions to delirious and poetic adventures. The play illustrates "the gaiety of mind steeped in contempt for fortuitous things," whose ultimate lesson will be to learn to become the interpreter of one's own existence. Through the journey of his giant, Rabelais dissects the disturbing failings of his time, without losing faith in a joyful humanism, fighting against preconceived ideas and fear.
