Sheep shearing planned at the educational farm of the Grand Parc de Figuerolles - Paul Lombard. Free entry, all public.
Sheep shearing is the process by which the wool fleece of a sheep is cut.
Is it necessary to shear sheep?
Shearing is therefore a requirement for the health of woolly sheep. Shearing frees the animal from external parasites, lice, ticks, and allows the skin to breathe.
The person who removes the wool from the sheep is called a shearer. As a rule, each adult sheep is shorn once a year.
