We're full of praise for Keziah Jones: self-taught, charismatic, committed and the creator of his own style of music (blufunk), which you'll be able to catch for one evening at our Grimaldines festival. You'll be immersed in the captivating world of this revolutionary artist, whose live performances combine driving rhythms, electrifying guitar riffs and poetic lyrics that will keep you on the edge of your seat. You'll want to stay up all night with his songs, an irresistible blend of blues, funk, folk and soul influenced by his mentors Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis and Fela Kuti.
Keziah Jones is a well-known artist thanks to his first album, "Blufunk is a fact", released in 1992, which was boosted by the success of the single "Rythm is love", a worldwide hit. The album quickly climbed to the top of the year's sales charts and stayed there for several weeks. This success took him all the way to the Olympia in Paris, where he played a fabulous sold-out concert.
After a string of chart-topping albums, Keziah Jones decided to take a break, but returned a few years later with a CD that was an instant hit, so much so that he re-released it a year later with a new, previously unreleased acoustic version.
In 2008, his album 'Nigerian Wood' conquered the public and reached number four in the sales charts, with a platinum disc.
Several projects are in the pipeline, including a first live compilation and his eagerly-awaited seventh album.
