After last year's Nutcracker, the Kiev Grand Ballet returns to present and magnify Swan Lake. This timeless masterpiece tells the story of Prince Siegfried's love for Odette. Imprisoned by a curse, she turns into a swan by day. Only eternal love can save her from this spell, but a sorcerer's ploy prevents passion from triumphing. At its premiere, Swan Lake failed to convince audiences, and it wasn't until Marius Petipa choreographed the four-act ballet - set to music by Tchaikovsky - that it became a worldwide success. The same choreography is used here by the Kiev Grand Ballet. Graduates of Ukraine's finest theater, opera and ballet schools, these artists offer a magical show for all audiences. Their program at Le Thor is also a tribute from Vaucluse to the Ukrainian people.
