She uses traditional ink and watercolor techniques to depict a magical world inspired by Asian folklore and fairy tales. I'd like to transport the viewer to that other possible place; that place where spirits make themselves visible and converse with the living.
This is partly the theme of her comic strip "Holly Molly", also on show, in which young children are led to bring the tangible world closer to the intangible. Between symbolism and visual storytelling, Elle tries to take the reader on a journey into a living nature, both wild and benevolent, and to weave stories where the marvelous mingles with adventure.
