This year marks the 50th anniversary of the film "Rabbi Jacob"!
To mark the occasion, Mr Stéphan GUÉRARD, a fervent collector from La Ciotat, is offering us the chance to discover his collection of photos, posters, correspondence and the original script of the film, which was released in cinemas on 18 October 1973 and directed by Gérard Oury (1919-2006).
This event will take place from
Monday to Saturday, 10am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5pm at La Ciotat Tourist Office.
Who is Stephan GUÉRARD?
But who is Stephan GUÉRARD?
"Born in La Ciotat on 02 March 1975, I studied at ESRA (Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle) after passing my baccalaureate in literature. I worked as an educational assistant at Les Matagots secondary school and have been a municipal employee in our town's cultural department since 2008.
Recognised as one of the world's leading collectors and a specialist in Louis de Funès, I'm also a film buff and have contributed to a number of documentaries and books on cinema. I've produced a number of exhibitions, including one on Louis de Funès at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris in 2020.
I've also been friends with many great personalities who are no longer with us, including Gérard Oury, Annie Girardot, Pierre Mondy, Michel Galabru, Georges Lautner and Jean-Paul Belmondo, as well as my beloved Mylène Demongeot, who passed away on 1 December 2022 and whom I miss deeply.
So I'm delighted to be able to exhibit at my town's tourist office. It's going to be a small, simple, unpretentious but authentic exhibition that will only last a week, but which will allow us to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary film "The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob".
