Joseph MOOG - Piano
"Taking every risk, daring exasperated fulgurances," young German pianist Joseph Moog seems to "bring a devil out of the box!"
This diabolical program of works by Liszt, Chopin, Ravel and Debussy is an obvious choice, for we all too often forget how much the piano writing of the latter owes to the fundamental innovations of the former two.
With the technical revolution invented by Liszt and Chopin, the piano became a chameleon in the service of an infinite palette of expressions: from the percussive play of the hammers to the liquidity of sound produced by the art of the pedal, from the unbridled virtuosity reminiscent of Paganini to the vocality inherited from Italian bel canto.
