When theatre enters life... and life plays out like a play.
Les Acteurs de bonne foi (The Actors in Good Faith) is a one-act comedy by Marivaux.
Les Acteurs de bonne foi (The Actors in Good Faith) is a one-act comedy by Marivaux.
On the day of Éraste and Angélique's wedding, an improvised comedy is organised. But quarrels between actors, the whims of masters and manipulative games muddy the waters. Between theatre and reality, everything goes awry... only to be resolved through laughter and reconciliation.
The production, staged by theatre students from the Nice Regional Conservatory, transposes Marivaux's work to the 1950s, a period of renewal full of hope and fantasy. The action takes place in an abandoned room in Madame Argante's house, cluttered with forgotten objects and dusty furniture. This liminal space becomes the scene of a double game, where everyone tries to pull the strings without always controlling the consequences.
