Inspired by the Mediterranean basin and the Camargue, where Brisson has lived for more than thirty years, this major exhibition highlights a body of new work while tracing the artist's journey through aesthetic territories.
From his native Orléans to Paris, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo and the Mediterranean, TRACES invites the public to explore Brisson's artistic universe, considered a new Fauvism in its use of color and matter.
A painter, engraver and sculptor, Brisson is part of a tradition that perpetuates and honors history, drawing his inspiration from natural elements and combining it with his passion for archaeology. Since childhood, he has been obsessed with the treasures that civilizations of past centuries have buried beneath our feet.
This is why, around the exhibition, the artist is taking up residence in the very heart of the Palais de l'Archevêché, in a spirit of transmission that will leave a new trace. A program of events open to the public will be offered for the duration of the exhibition, including lectures, artistic performances and discussions around meetings with the artist.
With curator Coco Dolle.
Vernissage: Friday, March 6 from 6 p.m.
Women's Day Brunch: Sunday, March 8, from 10 a.m.
