Come along to the ‘Un pas de côté’ festival at the Grand-Terre hall in Aureille on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th February!
What if we took a step back to look at our world differently?
The association Un pas de côté dans les Alpilles is organising the very first edition of its festival, a festive and inspiring event in the heart of the Alpilles.
For two days, residents, artists, scientists and lovers of life will come together to explore new ways of understanding, acting and dreaming in the face of environmental and societal challenges. The festival offers conferences, film screenings, concerts, organic and local meals, and a pop-up bookshop, promoting exchange, observation, sharing, and collective action in the face of contemporary challenges.
Friday 6th February
- 7pm: concert by the duo Slow Rush (jazz, soul, pop rock), refreshments and snacks with a market selling local produce
- 8.30pm: conference debate with biologist Olivier Hamant, ‘From performance to robustness, for a new relationship with living things’: why the quest for performance leads us to a dead end and why aiming for robustness is a healthy path shown to us by living things
- from 11pm: time for discussion and continuation of the concert, refreshments with local beers and wines
Saturday 7 February
- 10 a.m.: animated film ‘Flow’ (for ages 8 and up), which explores cooperation between animals in an unpredictable world. Followed by a discussion with the children and lunch on site
- 3 p.m.: documentary film ‘La théorie du boxeur’ (The Boxer's Theory) directed by Nathanaël Coste, a film that questions the agricultural model in the face of climate change, followed by a meeting with the director
- 6 p.m.: lecture-debate by Samuel Bonvoisin on the theme ‘What if we could cultivate water?’ What if water were not a resource to be consumed but a living asset to be regenerated?
- From 8 p.m.: meal made with local produce, followed by a concert by Aureillois band Here We Are Now: raw, sensitive and committed rock, influenced by Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana, Muse and Radiohead
- All day: pop-up bookshop in partnership with Le Grenier d'abondance bookshop in Salon-de-Provence, presentations and sales of books related to the festival's theme.
Come and rock out with us!
Take part in a friendly, supportive and festive event, and take the time to understand and discuss the issues of today and tomorrow.
