Discover a high-flying encounter between South Africa and Brazil, where urban and traditional dances are not so far apart. Powerful bodies, an electrifying rhythm… this creation promises to be an ode to joy!
This creation aims to highlight the bonds of friendship and solidarity in the struggles of oppressed peoples across borders and cultures, through dance. "Tumujuntu is a manifesto about complicity and recreating it together," explains Paulo Azevedo, anthropologist and choreographer, the project's creator. In this performance, the vital energy of pantsula dancers (a virtuoso hip hop style originating in the townships) and the raw power of Brazilian hip-hop dancers unite for a rare and unique spectacle.
