Guided tour of the historic center of Istres

A former centre with the first written traces dating back to the 10th century, in 966 exactly! Istres has a real historic centre, formerly fortified. This visit will allow you to discover the Musée du Vieil Istres and its largest collection of marks painted on amphorae in the world, to climb up to the lookout which overlooks the entire city of Istres and Notre Dame de Beauvoir (Church of the 12th century). The guide will explain the specificities of the habitat of the old Istres, modes of construction of houses, the history but also the legends that surround the commune.
