Watercolor is a writing of "water and soul", a writing of trace, of evocation, and if we combine it with other writings: we advance into a SENSITIVE WRITING, a relational support, a universal journey.
In our role as contemporary artists, this exhibition at the Cloître St Louis will develop this inspiration by bringing together the works of our finest French watercolor artists, who are both witnesses to and actors in our times, in the great diversity of their writing. The public will have at heart to listen to what resonates within them, and reinvent emotions and views.
With this new presence of the Société Française de l'Aquarelle from March 13 to 22, 2026, after six wonderful encounters over the last few years at the Cloître Saint Louis and a public coming from all horizons to share the pleasure and passion of our art, Avignon becomes an essential venue for contemporary watercolor painting.
