A painter, Anne Slacik has been working for over 40 years between her native Midi and the Paris region.
In parallel with her painting, she has been working for several decades on a major project in the field of artist's books, what she calls painted books. Over 400 original works have been produced. Alongside her recent paintings, Avec elles presents her work in the field of books with poetesses. Far be it from her to suggest that there is such a thing as "feminine" painting: simply that women painters work, that women poets write, and it is these numerous collaborations that this exhibition presents: Etel Adnan, Jeanne Benameur, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore, Colette Gibelin, Sophie Loizeau, Tita Reut, Valérie Rouzeau, Marguerite Yourcenar...
