    The Hill of the Castle: history of the castle, the cemetery and the garden

    The Hill of the Castle overlooks the heart of Nice (the old town on one side and the port on the other). Few people know that the history of Nice began here, when the Greeks settled there in the 3rd century BC. This site is the essential place to learn about the long and magnificent history of the city, in particular thanks to its archaeological excavations and its fortifications still intact in some places.     The Old Nice: a full history of its own
