Bonneveine Beach is a sandy beach, 540 meters long, with a swimming area marked by yellow buoys. It is equipped with a snack bar, trash cans, a lifeguard station, lockers, restrooms, and showers. A channel is reserved for kitesurfing. The beach is lifeguarded from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the swimming season (see the exact dates, updated annually, at www.marseille.fr) Supervised beaches are equipped with restrooms open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This network of facilities, maintained by the City of Marseille, helps ensure the quality of the bathing waters. Lockers are supervised from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Since 2021, a smoking ban has been in effect at the 15 supervised swimming areas; this municipal decision aims to protect non-smoking beachgoers and preserve local biodiversity by reducing the amount of litter associated with smoking. The City of Marseille, committed to providing the most transparent information possible to the residents of Marseille, publishes real-time updates on the website www.marseille.fr or via the City of Marseille app (available on iOS and Android) real-time updates on the quality of bathing water at the 15 swimming areas covered by the beach monitoring program. The City of Marseille is expanding its initiatives to support people with reduced mobility and/or disabilities.
