The Allumettes library was established in 1989 in the heart of the former match factory building in Aix-en-Provence.
The Méjanes library was installed in 1989 in the heart of the old match factory in Aix-en-Provence. It provides the public with a range of services: collections of documents on all subjects, on all media, for all public, digital resources, access to the Internet heritage collections, old and contemporary, including the 60,000 documents of the Marquis de Mejanes.
This library of about 9 000 m2 is the central point of a public reading network with three annexes, the Deux Ormes, the Halle aux Grains, the Li Campaneto and a mediation service.
Facilities Handicap: the library is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility. For the visually impaired or blind people, it is provided with equipment for reading and internet use: tele-magnifying machine, reading machine, computer and adapted software.
