Description

Ideally located in the heart of the village, the Sablet Library—which covers an area of 135 square meters and is housed on the ground floor of a building that was once a stagecoach station—welcomes readers in search of literary joy.
With a collection of 5,422 books, including 1,685 children’s books, 3,037 for adults, plus 700 titles loaned by the Vaucluse Department’s Book and Reading Service and renewed twice a year—readers can choose from a wide selection of novels, mysteries, non-fiction, comic books, and more… From the picture window on the children’s section side, we can see “La Fontaine” on Yvan Audouard Square, named after Yvan Audouard, who was a passionate advocate for Sablet’s Book Day. A book box set up by the Lions Club in 2019 makes books available to everyone—they can be chosen and taken home, returned, loaned out, or donated… Outside of public opening hours, the library hosts classes from “La Fontaine des Fées” school every Tuesday and, twice a month on Thursday mornings, the toddlers from “Les P’tits Malins” daycare.
