An association rooted for more than 10 years in the heart of the Jas de Bouffan district in Aix-en-Provence, which places at the center of its associative project the animation of the territory in respect of the values of tolerance, inclusion, and solidarity.

A creative and social space The latest social centre founded in the Bouches du Rhône department (January 2015). Based in the heart of the Jas de Bouffan area in Aix-en-Provence. The Centre Social et Culturel du Château de l'Horloge is about helping each other and getting together to help improve living conditions for locals by supporting education, developing cultural expression and building social bonds. As a reception and entertainment facility devoted to social and family action, the Centre Social et Culturel du Château de l'Horloge brings you activities and services to encourage integration and access to culture and leisure. It welcomes mediation and communication to help create and maintain bonds between communities, families and generations. This is where a sense of belonging to an area is forged along with the essential links to battle exclusion and isolation... Local facility open to everyone. It is managed by an Association run by volunteers on the Board of Administration and Bureau. It is run by a team of permanent employees and volunteers who are involved on a day-to-day basis. It provides activities for: - children: academic support - young people: activity holidays - adults, seniors: sports and cultural activities, skills transfer (cooking, DIY, gardening, oil painting), French workshop etc. - families: family outings, parent-child workshops in half-term - places to meet, talk, information: Energy week, various exhibitions, toy swap, spring fête etc. - it hosts associations and institutions providing activities or committees. Regular committees for different social services and charities - it encourages and fuels involvement from locals and charities in many forms. Volunteering is integral to this space. Adult activities: - Zumba - African dance - Brazilian drums - Asian drums - Tai Chi, beginner and advanced. - yoga - taekwondo - theatre - Spanish lessons Teenagers: - hip-hop Children: - taekwondo - Asian drums - theatre Seniors (over 50s): - yoga - theatre - ballroom dancing
