Climbing in Orgon

Orgon offers a climbing area suitable for all skill levels, featuring some of the most challenging routes in France. It is classified by the French Mountaineering and Climbing Federation as a site of national interest, with 3,000 to 10,000 meters of climbing routes. The town has three sectors: - The Canal Sector: This sector faces east, above the Chemin de la Fanfarline. Winter is suitable for climbing and performance training but remains very cold. The area is more pleasant on summer afternoons. Access: From Orgon, follow the signs for “Hôtel restaurant du Parc” and then take Chemin de la Fanfarline. Difficulty: 130 routes ranging from 3b to 9a (Beginner-Intermediate-Advanced-High Performance) Rock: Limestone Best time to visit: April, May, June, September, October - The Beauregard sector: This sector faces southeast, above Lake Lavau. Access: Enter the village and head up toward the Notre-Dame-de-Beauregard site. Difficulty: Perfect for climbers at grades 5 and 6. Excellent equipment, specifically designed to help beginners lead climb. - The Colline sector: This sector faces north and northwest. Access: Head up from the lake toward the cliffs to the south. 10-minute approach.
