Description
Pure mountain living: exceptional snow coverage thanks to the village's altitude, the Cervières Nordic ski area is vast, covering 53 kilometers divided into two sectors: Le Laus and the Vallée des Fonts.
This is one of the first resorts to open and remain snow-covered until the end of April. The ski area is vast, from 1620 m to 2360 m altitude, in two suspended valleys:
* Le Laus: with a large, sunny plateau ideal for beginners and children, bordering difficult runs on the ascent to the Col de l'Izoard, where you can ski in a grandiose natural setting, through woods, in a fir forest that is still very wild.
* The upper Fonts de Cervières valley, a protected mountain pasture valley with a unique architectural and natural heritage. This valley extends over 10 km and offers top-quality pistes.
There are also a number of itineraries for cross-country skiers and snowshoers. The "top" of these itineraries is the Haute Route des Escartons, which starts in Queyras, passes the Col de l'Izoard, crosses the entire ski area, crosses over to Italy via the Col de Bousson, then reaches Montgenèvre and finally the Clarée valley. This multi-day itinerary is ideal for Nordic ski touring, a new style of cross-country skiing that combines freedom and ease. Cervières, by virtue of its location, has naturally integrated it, making it an essential "crossroads".
On the Nordic site: information, parking, ski pass sales, first-aid posts, restaurants, hotels, refuges and gîtes, cross-country ski and snowshoe equipment rental.
