The modestly sized site, with its 36 km of groomed, marked and secure trails, stretches from the banks of the Durance to the alpine chalets in the heart of the forest, as well as 12 km to discover the "Clos des prés" itinerary on foot or with snowshoes.
The trails near the Centre Montagne are ideal for leisurely strolls.
The forest itineraries are more technical, joining the mine entrances; through the trees, the view extends sometimes towards Montbrison, sometimes towards Galibier or Italy.
For hiking enthusiasts, it's possible to climb higher into the mélézin or the Ayes valley.
There's also a fun area with a snow line for learning to ski, a safe toboggan run with inflatable sledges and a ski jump for beginners.
In summer, the Centre Montagne is the ideal starting point for your hikes.
On site: mountain center, rescue center, ESF, ski pass sales, information point, parking lot, toilets, restaurant, cross-country ski and snowshoe equipment rental, gîte or refuge.
5 minutes from Briançon, Villard Saint Pancrace is above all a mountain village, nestled at the foot of the imposing Mélézin forest, at the confluence of the torrent des Ayes and the Durance.
To the east, the Ayes valley leads to the Queyras via the GR 54, which links the Netherlands to the Mediterranean. To the south, the Durance plunges into the Gorges des Vignettes, while opposite, the limestone cliffs of Montbrison dominate the whole of the Briançon valley, the crossroads of 5 valleys: Guisane, Clarée, Cerveyrette, Ayes and Durance.
Road and rail access is facilitated by its proximity to Briançon.
