Description
The studio and gallery of painter Madeleine Ossikian, where you’ll find her “faux-naïve” works as well as a selection of works by unconventional and unique sculptors and photographers—a vibrant, joyful gallery just a stone’s throw from happiness!
"Based in Arles since 2024, painter Madeleine Ossikian welcomes visitors to her studio-gallery located in the heart of the city. Her immediately recognizable artistic style is characterized by a vibrant palette, joyful compositions, and a deliberately “falsely naïve” aesthetic, in which color and emotion take center stage. Her favorite themes are scenes of everyday life, freedom, women, the joy of living, and, always, love.
Inspired by the spirit of Provence and the identity of Arles, Madeleine Ossikian has recently created paintings dedicated to the theme of the grand Saturday market, as well as portraits of women from Arles, reimagined in her signature humorous and colorful style. These works, currently available for sale in her studio, and the portraits have also given rise to an original artistic collaboration with “Les Galettes Arlésiennes,” the brand created by Cécilia around a reimagined Provençal cookie. The two paintings were chosen to illustrate the designs for two models of cake boxes, thus creating a dialogue between visual art and local culinary expertise.
The artist paints on-site in full view of customers, and her artistic world is shared with selected sculptors working in unique media (wire, papier-mâché, assemblage). In addition, each year the studio invites a photographer to attend the events.

Through these collaborations, Madeleine Ossikian pursues an approach deeply rooted in artistic life, blending unconventional contemporary creation with regional identity.
