Galerie Le Container is a gallery specializing contemporary art. It exhibits around twenty emerging and established artists. It strives to ensure that a portion of its selection represents local artists.
Founded in 2016, Galerie Le Container is a contemporary art gallery committed to promoting and showcasing emerging and established artists, in France and internationally. Located in the south of France, in the heart of Aix-en-Provence's historic center, it develops a demanding program attuned to distinctive contemporary voices, with a particular sensitivity to practices that examine material, gesture, space, and the narratives of our time. It represents around twenty French and international artists. Through its exhibitions, off-site projects, and participation in contemporary art fairs, the gallery supports the artists it champions in a process of professionalization, visibility, and networking with collectors, curators, institutions, and new audiences.
The founders of Galerie Le Container, Déborah Bosseaux and Clément Dorance, share a common ambition: to champion a demanding, open, and accessible vision of contemporary art. Passionate about contemporary creation and bringing complementary experience in the art world, artistic direction, international development, and communications, they conceived a singular project in 2016 (initially nomadic) before permanently establishing it in Aix-en-Provence. Conceived as a place of discovery, encounter, and transmission, the gallery reflects their shared commitment to fostering dialogue between artists, works, and audiences within a framework that is both committed and accessible.
Déborah Bosseaux, an art historian by training, built her career at a national museum in Paris, then as artistic director of an international network of galleries, before taking on the leadership of a gallery specializing in Street Art. This experience, informed by both a solid knowledge of the art market and a strong curatorial sensibility, forms one of the foundations of the gallery's identity. Her eye is drawn as much to the singularity of artistic practices as to the way of situating them within a living dialogue with collectors, institutions, and audiences.
Clément Dorance brings complementary expertise to the project, at the intersection of architecture, international trade, marketing, and the development of gallery networks abroad, notably in the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. His background nurtures an open and structured vision of the gallery's development, attentive to the circulation of artists, their visibility, and the project's place within international dynamics.
Together, Déborah Bosseaux and Clément Dorance have made Galerie Le Container a space in their own image: independent, exacting, mobile in spirit, and resolutely oriented toward the contemporary scene.
