From Clôt la Chalpe, you’ll quickly reach a trail that winds through the fields and hay meadows typical of the local agro-pastoral landscape. You’ll continue against the river’s current; the climb is gradual, perfect for warming up without any pressure. The trail gives way to a narrower but still smooth path, first through the woods, then along the riverbank. The landscape gradually opens up to reveal the peaks of the Aigue Blanche Valley, while the water becomes a constant companion on this peaceful escape. You’ll then reach Saint Véran, a little gem perched high in the mountains. The descent begins gently on a smooth, playful trail. This route is shared by various users: hikers, herds, and trail runners.
